These acts of terrorism by Zionists across the country, wherein counter-protesters have attacked the Gaza demonstrators with fireworks, chemicals, and other means for assault, represent the beginning of a broader campaign of violence. As the pro-Palestine movement continues to make gains, its enemies are going to escalate their efforts at terrorizing the movement’s members. And when the “Israeli” settler state gets dismantled, we’re going to have a situation akin to that of the Latin American “gusanos,” except a hundred times worse. The settlers who are forced to give back the Palestinian homes they’ve stolen, or who decide to move back to the United States because they can no longer live as oppressors, will join in on a terror campaign against American communities. They’ll blame the communist and antiwar groups for how they lost, and they’ll relocate their violent vigilante efforts to this country.
That they’re already in the process of doing so shows how much our class and geopolitical conflict has escalated. We’ve reached the stage where U.S. imperialism’s proxy forces, facing imminent defeat in the parts of the globe they’ve been sent to fight in, are coping by directing this warfare towards American anti-imperialists. It was unsurprising that this would happen, and the pro-Palestine struggle’s participants are being made aware of this reality by necessity. What’s important to communicate to Palestine supporters is just how ideologically broad the counter-gangs we’re going to be facing are. How the sources of this terror are going to be not just far-right Zionists, or neo-Nazis, but also radical liberals. Ones who claim to support Palestine, but have such a vendetta against those within the anti-NATO movement that they’re willing to split the pro-Palestine struggle.
The radlib types of counter-gangs, the ones that target anti-imperialists over petty sectarian leftist disputes, are actually the ones the deep state views as more useful than these Zionist or Nazi ones. When the radlib counter-gangs mobilize, they’re not going to be acting as spontaneous fanatics, like the man who immediately got arrested after spraying chemicals at protesters. They’re going to be acting as part of a pre-planned, coordinated proxy terror effort by the intelligence centers. This is because though the Zionist fascists are useful in that they can help the police intimidate demonstrators, they also help further turn the public against Zionism, and against the U.S. government by extension.
Most of the U.S. public has come to be against the military actions of “Israel” when shown the evidence of Zionism’s inhumane nature. And most Americans are not on the far right, so they won’t support the efforts of the far-right counter-gangs. What they’ll better accept, though, are counter-gangs that act under the guise of “fighting fascism.” This is where the Ukraine psyop, and its own related counter-gangs, connect to the deep state’s plans for orchestrating paramilitary violence. Because the radlibs who portray pro-Russian communists as “fascists,” and who view Russia as a fascist state, are fundamentally linked to the Ukrainian Nazis which have been fighting Russia.
NATO’s proxy war has depended on using the aesthetics of liberalism, and even of “leftism,” to cover up the reality that modern Ukraine is fascist. The psyop machine has corralled many leftists towards supporting Ukraine, or at least taking a weak “both sides are bad” stance on the conflict, by spinning a narrative about Russia’s intervention being driven by “fascism.” And when characterizing the communists who support Russia’s effort to rescue the Donbass from Kiev’s Donbass ethnic cleaning project, they employ demonizing tropes. They act like these communists back Russia as part of a “red-brown alliance” project, rather than out of principled solidarity.
They manipulate leftists by conflating the pro-Russian stance with conservative politics, and by acting like conservatism necessarily equates to fascism. Then they use innuendos about supposed “red-brown” collaboration to portray pro-Russian Marxists as secretly far-right. This tactic, where bad-faith actors work to smear an entire swath of the global pro-Palestine movement, acts both to divide the struggle and to recruit leftists into the state’s counter-gangs. The mix of militant pan-leftist groups that call themselves “Antifa” is the most substantial element where this dangerous type of left sectarianism exists. The prevailing thought within modern “Antifa” combines a sense of dedication towards defeating fascism, with a confused worldview that puts NATO’s enemies in the “fascist” category.
The idea that the inteligence agencies are behind these ideas within the modern left can be confirmed simply by looking into the backgrounds of key propagandists behind the “red-brown alliance” narratives. Reported The Grazyzone in 2021 on the intelligence connections of Alexander Reid Ross, the anarchist who’s taken a job as a smear merchant for the U.S. State Department:
By marketing himself as an anarchist and “libertarian socialist” with an inside track on both the radical left and fascist right, Ross has managed to make himself seem useful to the national security state hardliners behind the burgeoning counter-disinformation industry. And by impugning left-wing anti-imperialists as “conspiracy theorists [who] undermine a democratic political consensus,” he has signaled to his employers a commitment to the shared cause of defending the US national security state against perceived domestic threats. So in a twist of comical irony, the “red-brown” researcher Ross has become a senior research fellow at a recently founded think tank backed by billionaires, including the right-wing oligarch Charles Koch. There, Ross has co-authored reports with the retired chief of operations for counterintelligence at the CIA, ex-Department of Homeland Security officials, former police officers, and even an erstwhile Republican congressman who proudly calls himself a “Bigfoot scholar.” Having once boasted, “i’ve been an anarchist since I was in elementary school,” Ross is now a proud colleague of cops, spies, and militarists, helping advance their commitment to suppressing any narrative that threatens to erode ruling-class control.
As compatible leftists like Ross accuse the pro-Russian side of being fascist, the deep state continues to cultivate actual fascist terror cells in Ukraine. And it’s working to deploy them both in Russia, and ultimately in the United States. The Ukrainian government has as much as admitted that these terrorism plans exist. It’s created a website that lists high-profile NATO opponents, including ones who are U.S. citizens, as targets for assassination. The goal is to facilitate a Ukrainian fascist equivalent of the terror campaign that Zionists are carrying out in reaction to their defeat. To give the Ukrainian Nazis an avenue for taking revenge against U.S. communists following their loss to Russia.
There are more than enough imperialism-compatible elements within the left for radical liberals to represent an extension of this threat. The function of the left counter-gangs is both to make the pro-Palestine movement unable to fight off the far-right terrorists, and to police the movement from within so that it lacks a real anti-imperialist character. The upholders of the “Russia is fascist” view want to systematically and aggressively drive out the principled anti-imperialist elements. Most of all, they seek to separate the Palestinian people’s struggle from the Donbass people’s struggle. And for many of these anti-Russian leftists, this lack of solidarity applies to many other peoples who imperialism is targeting, such as the Chinese people, the Iranians, the Syrians, and the Koreans.
The effect is to empower NATO, the deep state, the far-right Ukrainian and Zionist counter-gangs, and by extension the “Israeli” colonial project which these leftists claim to oppose. A pro-Palestine movement that’s fighting itself, and isn’t allowed to have its members develop their anti-imperialist consciousness, is one the fascists can easily crush. And because the intelligence centers have been able to bring many leftists towards anti-Russian derangement syndrome, the fascists won’t need to do all the work at causing harm towards anti-imperialists. Radical liberals will assist them in this goal.
To defeat this fascist backlash, we have to advance a resistance towards not only Zionism, but every other aspect of what the imperialists are doing. We have to make the pro-Palestine struggle also a struggle against NATO, Washington’s war on China, the war against socialist Korea, and so on. This means rejecting pan-leftism, because far from all leftists are on the side of such an effort. It means building coalitions with the forces that oppose monopoly capitalism, which go beyond the “left,” so that we can collectively work to defeat the state’s anti-democratic goals.
The bill to ban direct pro-Palestinian speech, the Zionist vigilante assaults, the police brutality against the protesters, and the media’s lies about the demonstrations all represent an effort to subvert the people’s will. Most of the U.S. public is against this genocidal war, like how it’s mostly against the proxy war in Ukraine. We have to build a united front against the institutions that are perpetuating these evils, and prepare to defend against whatever their counter-gangs do.
